Follwing her New York Times bestseller Naturally Thin, natural foods chef Bethenny Frankel is touring the country to promote her second book The Skinnygirl Dish: Easy Recipes for Your Naturally Thin Life. Just over 100 fans packed the upstairs floor of Legacy Books in Plano on Wednesday, Janary 20 to meet and greet the celebrity chef and star of Bravo's The Real Housewives of New York City.

Bethenny Frankel Before her arrival, Legacy Books served up some of Frankel's "Guilt-Free Artichoke and Spinach Dip"; her "Mykonos Burgers," which are Greek turkey burgers with red onion, feta cheese and yogurt sauce; and her "How-Is-This-So-Moist Chocolate Cake." Guests mixed and mingled about Frankel's fast and practical recipes.

Just after 7 p.m., our much-anticipated celebrity chef arrived and boiling with sarcasm, she joked about getting the "foreplay" over with so we can jump right into the "sex"…the "foreplay" referring to her show and the "sex" referring to her book. With that, a Q&A transpired on The Real Housewives of New York City and, like a firecracker, Frankel spat jokes right and left. She revealed that two new housewives will be introduced on the show soon.

Currently, Frankel is working on her own reality-TV show called Bethenny Gets Married, which will chronicle her relationship with Jason Hoppy.

Frankel was candid about her fiance Jason, and wearing a tight fuchsia pink dress, she was not shy about her baby bump. She evoked an "awww" from the crowd when she shared how the couple met at a club called Ten June and coincidently, her due date is June 10. Frankel is journaling about her pregnancy for her third book on natural food for pregnant women. Also up-and-coming is a workout video to be released in May.

Commenting on the success of her first book, Naturally Thin, Frankel said, "Hundreds of thousands of people have lost so much weight. The book unleashed people's 'skinnygirl,' or 'guy.'"

While her first book compares your diet to your bank account, The Skinnygirl Dish compares your diet to your wardrobe. And we've all been there…standing in front of our closet full of clothes and there's nothing to wear.

Said Frankel, "Dinner can feel like a comparable situation as you stand in front of your refrigerator and think you have absolutely nothing to eat. Accessorize your kitchen as if it were your wardrobe. First, you need to know what classics you have on hand—the culinary versions of the black turtleneck, the crisp white shirt, the perfect jeans, and the simple black dress. Then, you need to venture out and be daring."

Frankel explained that we always buy the same thing at the supermaket. "We don't like to venture out, and we especially don't like to be overwhelmed with long, complex lists (or recipes)," she said. "But a lot of my recipes are what I call 'happy accidents' when I just use what's in my kitchen."

So basically, Frankel's message is twofold: Get creative with what you've got, and don't be afraid to let it all hang out…experiment, just have a little taste.
